Torque is only a means to an end. What holds a cylinder valve, hose or port fitting in place is the clamping force, the axial load, that the torque produces. Most of the torque is lost to friction in the threads and under the shoulder, so the same torque gives very different clamping forces on dry and lubricated threads.
Pick a common regulator-port or cylinder-valve thread or enter your own, and the calculator gives the axial load for your torque, dry and lubricated, from the thread’s geometry and friction.
